Busy Route 1 Stretch Will Be Closed In Westchester

A busy stretch of Route 1 will be closed both ways for roadwork over parts of two days.

The closure of Boston Post Road in Port Chester will be northbound and southbound, between Slater Street and Grace Church Street, daily from Monday, April 29 through Tuesday, April 30 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and plan accordingly.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
